How closely will the character look like my child?

The character is drawn from your photo in the art style you pick, so expect a likeness rather than an exact copy: our terms note that a character may not look exactly like the person in the photo. Your hero appears on most pages, so it pays to choose the photo carefully.

Does character consistency work for pets?

Yes. Upload a clear photo where their face, coat and markings are easy to see, and they're kept consistent just like a person. A pet can even be the hero of the book.

Does character consistency cost extra?

No, character consistency is built into every book. New accounts get 50 free credits, and starting a book uses 46, which covers the whole story plus the cover and first 3 pages. A finished 12-page book costs 73 credits in total, 24 pages cost 109 and 32 pages cost 133. Only extra characters add to that, at 50 credits each.

Can I remake one of these Story Gallery books with my own child?

Yes. Each of the eight books above can be remade starring your own hero for 39 credits, 34 less than a new book, because the story is already written. Open it in the Story Gallery and choose "Make this story with my hero".

Whose photos can I upload?

You need to be 18 or over, and either the child's parent or guardian or someone who has their permission to use the photo.

How are uploaded photos handled?

Photos are used only to make your book and are shared with the AI providers that write and illustrate it. KlugStory doesn't use them to train AI models or show them in the public gallery, and deleting a story removes its photos from our storage straight away. Full details are in our privacy policy.
