Can I give it as a printed book?

KlugStory provides a print-ready PDF rather than a printed copy: print it yourself, take the file to a local print shop, or give it as it is.

How far ahead should I make it?

A day is plenty. Writing the story takes only a couple of minutes, and once the preview is approved, a 12, 24 or 32-page book is illustrated in about 4, 8 or 11 minutes. Leave time to print if you want a paper copy.

Can grandchildren star in a gift for their grandparents?

Yes. Make one grandchild the hero and add brothers, sisters or cousins as extra characters, up to five in all. Grandma and Grandpa can be in the story too, as extra characters.

Can I make one for a child who isn't mine?

Yes, with the parents' blessing: a child's photo can only come from an adult who's their parent or guardian or has that person's go-ahead, so ask them for a photo first.

Can a pet be the star of the gift?

Yes. Pets star in storybook gifts too: a dog, cat or other pet can be the hero, drawn from a clear photo where their face and markings are easy to see, with the children as extra characters.

Do I need to use my credits straight away?

No. Credits never expire and there's no subscription, so you can top up well before a birthday and make storybook gifts whenever you're ready.
